Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Dog Gone Done ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information through our website, product preview, founding list, member web app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Founding-list information. If you join the founding list, we collect your first name, email address, signup source, and signup time.

Account and household information. The founding beta uses ChatGPT sign-in. We receive a stable account identifier, email address, and, when available, display name from the sign-in service. We also collect preferences and household-member names or labels the adult chooses to add. Only adults may create and control accounts.

Pet-care information. You may choose to enter pet names, species, routines, feeding and walking logs, sleep routines, grooming schedules, appointments, medication schedules and completion records, emergency contacts, notes, and task assignments.

Temporary sitter access. An adult account owner may choose to share selected pet-care instructions and records through a private, expiring sitter link. The account owner controls the invitation and is responsible for ending access when it is no longer needed.

Notification information. If a signed-in adult chooses to enable web push, our notification provider receives a device subscription identifier and an account identifier so alerts can reach the correct signed-in adult. Notification permission is controlled through the individual browser or device.

Payment information. Stripe processes purchases and may provide us transaction details such as payment status, plan, amount, billing date, and limited payment-method information. We do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.

Communications and technical information. We collect information you send to support and may receive basic technical information needed to secure and operate the Service, such as browser type, device type, IP address, timestamps, and error or security logs.

2. Location data

Dog Gone Done does not collect precise geolocation, request device location permission, track a user's movements, or use location data for advertising. An IP address may provide an approximate general region as part of ordinary internet security and hosting logs, but we do not use it to track a person's physical movements.

3. How we use information

4. How we share information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the Service, such as OpenAI for ChatGPT sign-in and site hosting, and Stripe for payment processing, as well as database, email, notification, analytics, and security providers. Service providers may use information only to provide services to us under applicable agreements. We may also disclose information when required by law, to address fraud or safety concerns, or as part of a business transfer.

We do not sell personal information and do not use personal information for targeted advertising.

5. Household and sitter sharing

Information entered into a shared household may be visible to the account owner and authorized household participants. Information selected for a temporary sitter handoff may be visible to that sitter during the access period. Adult account owners choose whom to add, what to share, and when to remove access. Do not enter or share information you are not authorized to provide.

6. Children and minors

Only adults age 18 or older may create or control accounts. Minors may not create independent accounts. An adult may add a managed household-member name or label and assign tasks as part of the adult's household routine. Children under 13 may not independently access the Service or submit personal information. If you believe a child provided information directly without appropriate adult involvement, email us so we can review and delete it.

7. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by information type. You may request deletion, although we may retain limited information when legally required or necessary for fraud prevention and recordkeeping.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the Service. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Protect the account you use to sign in and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Your choices

You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in a message or by contacting us. You may also request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by emailing us from the address associated with your signup or account. We may need to verify your request.

Web push notifications are optional. You may change your alert preferences in the Service and change notification permission through your browser or device settings.

10. Third-party services and links

Third-party services, including Stripe, have their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy does not govern websites or services we do not control.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Dog Gone Done develops. We will post the updated policy, revise the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.
